News

We were saddened to learn that two Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba applicants and their daughter were among the passengers of the Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752. Mahdi Sadeghi and Bahareh Hajesfandiari were both master's level civil engineers from Iran working in Winnipeg. Our thoughts are with the Sadeghi and Hajesfandiari family and their colleagues at Fresh Projects Builders and Marwest Construction during this difficult time. The Association offers its sincerest condolences to the friends, families, and colleagues of everyone effected by this tragic event. More information about the Manitobans on board flight PS752 can be found on this CBC news story.

Volunteer Opportunities
Nominating Committee - Multiple Positions
The Nominating Committee assists in identifying election candidates who meet the criteria for councillors as described in the Governance Policy GP-6. The Committee does this by asking members to recommend nominees who are willing to serve as a councillor in the governance of the Association. The committee is looking for five new committee members: one intern (engineering or geoscience) and four professional members, of which one needs to be a P.Geo. For full information about the opportunity, see the call for volunteers.
