The APEGM Foundation contributed towards a new geoscience gallery for the
Department of Geology at Brandon University.

Engineering and Information Technology Complex (EITC) at the University of Manitoba
The EITC will support Canada's innovation strategy, and the innovation agendas of the Province of Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg.

- The EITC will help achieve key challenges addressed by Canada's Innovation Strategy.
- Knowledge Performance. The EITC will help strengthen the University of Manitoba's research
environment, and allow it to build greater research partnerships with industry. The facility will help create new
marketable ideas and technologies.
- Skills. The EITC will provide Manitoba with an increased supply of highly qualified
people able to support high technology industries.
- Strengthening Communities. The EITC will create a centre for high technology research
and teaching at the University of Manitoba. It will support the development of clusters of high technology industries
in Manitoba, a goal similarly emphasized in the priorities of the Province of Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg.
- Strategic priorities of Manitoba's Innovation Framework include the following areas: aerospace, biotechnology, information
and communications technologies (ICT), new media, advanced manufacturing, and hydro and alternative energy developments.
University of Manitoba educated engineers and computer scientists, and the outstanding research-partnership opportunities
provided by the EITC, will help the province meet these priorities.
