Winnipeg Events
- PEGW 2008 in Winnipeg was held at the Kildonan Place Shopping Centre from
February 29 to March 2, 2008 with activities/activités
for everyone.
- Friday, February 29, 2008 featured a Celebrity Design Competition to "Raise a Tower for Charity". Teams competed for $1,000
in prizes for donation to local charities. The Official Contest Rules
contain an event description with guidelines and judging criteria for contestants.
- Saturday, March 1, 2008 featured the ever popular Spaghetti Bridge Competition. The Spaghetti Bridge Competition is open
to all school children. Contestants are required to follow specific contest rules/règles.
- Sunday, March 2, 2008 there were Children's Activities in the Kildonan Place centre court from noon to 4:00 pm, plus a
special IMAX presentation at the IMAX Theatre at Portage Place.
- Other activities included engineering/geoscience displays during the three days, as well as the presentation of a
provincial proclamation for Provincial Engineering and Geoscience Week on the Friday.
Brandon Events
- The APEGM Westman Chapter held its 5th Annual Spaghetti Bridge Competition from March 3 - 5, 2008 in conjunction with the
Faculty of Engineering, University of Manitoba display at the Brandon Career Symposium
at the Keystone Centre in Brandon.
- On March 18, 2008 the APEGM Westman Chapter provided judges for the Western Manitoba Science Fair,
also held at the Keystone Centre.
