Manual of Admissions

Overview

Part six of The Engineering and Geoscientific Professions Act requires the Council of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba to establish a Registration Committee to consider and decide upon applications for Registration, Licensure, and enrollment as a Member-In-Training (MIT).

It also requires the Council to establish criteria and standards to be used by the Registration Committee in assessing academic and work experience qualifications, prescribing examinations, and establishing any other requirements for admission to the engineering and geoscience professions.

By-law 6.1 of the APEGM By-laws provides that "The requirements, policies and procedures applicable to the approval of an application for admission to, registration by, enrollment with, or licensure by, the association shall be set out in the association's Manual of Admissions. It shall be authorized by the council and published, and available from the office of the association."

This Manual contains general qualifications and requirements for the various categories of admission. It is the policy document used by the admissions committees, and the staff in developing operating procedures for evaluating qualifications and processing applications.
