Professional development is the on-going acquisition of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that increase the effectiveness and competence of a professional practitioner.
Although APEGM does not currently enforce mandatory professional development for our members, we do encourage and facilitate the voluntary process.
APEGM requires Members in the Practising category to submit a Declaration of Compliance to acknowledge the member's responsibility to maintain his or her competence, when they renew their membership each year.
APEGM maintains a listing of upcoming conferences and lectures that may be of interest to its membership. There is also a listing of selected papers from past APEGM professional development events.
Professional Development Opportunities represent engineering or geoscience training that is not a single event. We maintain a page of upcoming Continuing Education programs that may be of interest to you.
