MEMBER REGISTRATION

Special Status


1. Retired

Members who transfer to, or renew, the Retired category:

  • Retain the right to vote, access to insurance, and P.Eng., P.Geo. designation
  • Cannot practise Professional Engineering or Geoscience in Manitoba
  • Must return all seals
  • Receive membership at a reduced fee
  • Must renew annually
  • Are not required to participate in ProDev
  • Must apply to the Continuing Competency Committee before returning to practice

2. On Leave

Members who transfer to, or renew, the On Leave category:

  • Will be away from practice for several years, but intend to return to practice
  • Retain the right to vote, access to insurance, and P.Eng., P.Geo. designation
  • Cannot practise Professional Engineering or Geoscience in Manitoba
  • Must return all seals
  • Receive membership at a reduced fee
  • Must renew annually
  • Are not required to participate in ProDev
  • Are strongly encouraged to maintain their ProDev log
  • Must apply to the Continuing Competency Committee before returning to practice

Common cases for On Leave status include long-term disability, or extended parental leave.

3. Life Member

Members who transfer to the Life Member category:

  • Must be 65 years of age or older
  • Must have been a member of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba or a constituent association of the CCPE for a minimum of 30 years or have practised Geoscience and been a member of the Association for a combined total of 30 years
  • Cannot practise Professional Engineering or Geoscience in Manitoba
  • Are not required to participate in ProDev
  • Must be retired from all gainful employment
  • Retain your Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba vote
  • Are not required to renew or pay annual dues

4. Resignation

Members who resign from Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba:

  • Cannot practise Professional Engineering or Geoscience in Manitoba
  • Must return all seals and certificates
  • Are considered in good standing and may apply for reinstatement with the Association without having to pay a de-registration fee

IMPORTANT If you fail to provide notice of resignation, you must reapply to become re-registered with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba in the future.
