Sustainable Development
Introduction
Sustainable Development is a common sense approach based on the principle that there can be no development or meaningful
economic growth without a clear commitment to protecting the environment. It is dependent upon the active involvement of
all citizens to ensure that society's needs are met both now and in the future.
The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of Manitoba recognizes that the environment
and the economy cannot be viewed as separate concerns. The world's pressing environmental challenges and economic
opportunities are of interest and importance to all.
The issues are complex. Professional Engineers and Geoscientists are trained and experienced in handling complex problems
and are, therefore, well positioned to contribute to the solutions.
