Committee for Increasing the Participation of Women in Engineering

Overview

The Committee for Increasing the Participation of Women in Engineering (CIPWIE), formerly the Women's Action Committee (WAC), consists of a dedicated group of volunteers with a variety of backgrounds - some are members-in-training, while others are practicing professionals.

The purpose of this committee is to monitor and increase the participation of women in engineering with respect to recruitment, retention and equity for APEGM. CIPWIE participates in outreach and development activities, research initiatives, and collaborations with like-minded groups both within and external to APEGM.

CIPWIE is a member of:

  • CCWESTT - Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science, Trades and Technology
  • WIEAG - The National Women in Engineering Advisory Group as formed by Engineers Canada
