Volunteer Opportunities
Discipline Committee - Committee Member
The Discipline Committee fulfills one of the core functions of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, as mandated by the Act and by-laws. Discipline Committee members determine, as a panel, whether a practitioner is guilty of professional misconduct or unskilled practice, and the appropriate penalties, if any are required. We are currently looking for a professional member (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) who has 10+ years of professional practice, knowledge of the Act and by-laws, some knowledge of the judicial process, and previous experience on EngGeoMB committees. Please see the full call for volunteers for details.
Competency-Based Assessors - Multiple Positions
We are seeking additional assessors to join our growing group of volunteers for the Competency-Based Assessment System. Assessors are those who review an applicant's submission as well as their validators' feedback to provide ratings for each of the competencies. This determines if the applicant has progressed to a professional level of competency in their field of work. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to give back to their profession, but may be unable to commit to monthly meetings due to work commitments, travel restrictions, childcare, etc. Professional members of all disciplines are encouraged to apply. For a detailed description of this opportunity and the volunteer requirements, please see the call for volunteers.
