2024 Awards Nominations are Open!
The Association is seeking nominations for the 2024 Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba Awards. Honours are presented in ten categories and recognize outstanding Manitoba engineers and geoscientists, teams, and employers. Submit to Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba no later than Friday, February 23, 2024. The Student Achievement Award nomination deadline is Friday, May 10, 2024. CofA Insurance Requirements Engagement Sessions
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba's Council is reviewing the amounts, terms, and conditions of professional liability insurance coverage required when offering engineering or geoscientific activities to the public. The current policy was established 20 years ago and there are indications that an update is required. Two sessions are being held to engage stakeholders on this topic: One on January 22, 2024, and one on January 23, 2024. Anyone who has feedback on this topic is welcome to attend.

Affiliation with an Association Chapter
Did you know that all practitioners can affiliate with an Association chapter? If you were affiliated with a chapter before renewing your membership, you are invited to reconfirm your affiliation with any of the Association's chapters through your online member profile. Affiliation with a chapter is not exclusively based on ethnicity or location. Anyone can join any chapter for mutual support, networking, and special events. Choose a chapter and get involved today!
Volunteer Opportunities
By-law Review Committee
The By-law Review Committee develops and maintains the by-laws of the Association in accordance with By-law Part XVI, which includes engaging with stakeholders during the development process. The By-law Review Committee is looking for a professional member (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) to join the committee for a three-year term, with preference given to members with demonstrated governance experience. Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee is a committee of Council, which assists in identifying election candidates who meet the criteria for new councillors as described in the Governance Policy for Councillor Roles and Job Description. The Nominating Committee is looking for three professional members, of which one needs to be a professional geoscientist to join the committee for a one-year term. Participants will explore racial power structures, racial hierarchies, and the role of colonialism in racism in the past and present.
