PEGW 2024: All About Provincial Engineering and Geoscience Week - March 17 - March 23, 2024
In Manitoba, March 17 - 23, 2024, is dedicated to PEGW, allowing for the celebration of engineers and geoscientists, and the vital role they play within the province. Here, Canadian youth see what makes engineering and geoscience as exciting and fun career choices. Spaghetti Bridge Virtual Bridge Breaking Competition - Tune In TODAY!
Our annual Spaghetti Bridge Competition, in support of Harvest Manitoba, returns with a virtual option that will be LIVE today (March 21, 2024) from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.! Tune in to watch K-Grade 12 students compete to build the strongest bridge using just pasta and white or wood glue, and then watch as we test it to destruction! Public Review of Proposed Changes to the 2020 National Model Codes - February 27 - April 29, 2024
The Canadian Board for Harmonized Construction Codes (CBHCC) invites code users, the Codes community, and the public to participate in the winter 2024 public review of proposed changes to the 2020 editions of the National Model Codes. The proposed changes included in this public review address the following topics in the National Building Code of Canada, the National Fire Code of Canada, the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings, and the National Plumbing Code of Canada. Investigation Committee
The Investigation Committee is considered a committee of Council and is made up of registered professionals from all disciplines who review complaints made about the conduct of members in a timely manner and makes recommendations for discipline based on the severity of the offense. The committee additionally provides guidance to membership on standards of professional practice. The committee is currently looking for a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) working in the area of structural engineering to join the committee.
