EngGeoMB Celebrates National Engineering and Geoscience Month 2026
Starting Sunday, March 1, 2026, EngGeoMB is proud to take part in National Engineering and Geoscience Month (NEGM) - a time dedicated to recognizing the innovation, expertise, and impact these professions have towards the safety and future of Manitoba. In partnership with fellow provincial regulators across Canada, the Association will host a series of initiatives and events designed to engage both our members and the public, shining a light on the innumerable contributions of engineers and geoscientists daily. Member Engagement Session: Future By-law Changes - Thursday, March 5, 2026
Council invites all members to participate in an open engagement session discussing potential by-law changes for 2026. This engagement session will go over the By-law Change Process and potential changes will be presented for discussion and feedback. Act and React Activity for Practitioners' Participation #4: Registration
Our practitioner engagement now asks practitioners to weigh in on specific Act changes under consideration with a fourth Act and React activity. Practitioners are asked to review some considerations regarding registration for The Engineering and Geoscientific Professions Act, evaluate the public interest considerations, why it matters to you and your practice, and then provide your feedback by answering a few survey questions. This is your opportunity to recognize and celebrate outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions in their fields of engineering and geoscience at the 2026 EngGeoMB Awards. Whether it's through innovation, leadership, or community impact, your nominations help shine a spotlight on those who inspire and elevate others in Manitoba. Submit your nominations no later than Friday March 6, 2026; the Student Achievement Award nomination deadline is Friday, May 8, 2026. UM EngiQueers will be hosting the Queers and Gears Networking Event on Wednesday, March 4, 2026  from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Little Brown Jug. It will be a casual night to meet other 2SLGBTQ+ engineers and have some fun. Allys are welcome, too. Food will be provided. Tickets are $10.00, and include a free drink ticket.
