REGISTRATION
Confirmatory Program
First-Time Engineering or Geoscience applicants who have not completed a post-secondary program (typically bachelor's degree) of at least four-years in duration in engineering or geoscience will be assigned the confirmatory program to confirm the level and quality of academic education.
The confirmatory program can be completed in one of three ways:
1) Internationally Educated Engineers Qualification (IEEQ)
Complete the IEEQ Program offered through the University of Manitoba.
Please note: The University of Manitoba has suspended the IEEQ Program until 2025. For further information or questions, please contact eng.info@umanitoba.ca. As a result, this option is no longer available as a Confirmatory Program option as of June 30, 2023.
2) Pass Accreditation Exams
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam offered through US National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES)
Fundamentals of Geology (FG) offered through the US National Association of State Boards of Geology (ASBOG).
3) Post-Graduate Studies
Complete a Master of Science in engineering or geoscience at the University of Manitoba.
Do not pursue more than one of these options at the same time. Keep us informed of your plans, we are happy to discuss.
Completion of the Confirmatory Program
When the confirmatory program is successfully completed the applicant will be declared academically qualified and enrolled as an engineering or geoscience intern and invited to start Competency-Based Assessment.
