Council Election and By-law Proposals and Petitions for 2019

Notification of candidate platforms and proposed by-law changes is available in accordance with By-law 3.1.4 and 17.6.4.

The vote will take place through your online profile beginning Thursday, September 26, 2019, at 12:00 a.m. and ending Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at midnight.

Council Elections

In this year's election, there are six (6) candidates for election to three (3) positions in the professional engineer category.

There is no election for the professional geoscientist member to the Council; the one candidate will be declared elected by acclamation.

Doug Bell, P.Geo. elected to Council in 2018 for a two-year term has resigned. Council moved By-law 3.1.8 to appoint Linda Murphy, P.Geo. as the replacement to fill the vacancy for the balance of the term.

There are two (2) candidates for election to one (1) position in the intern category.

Only registered members are eligible to vote for the professional engineers and professional geoscientist positions. Only interns are eligible to vote for the intern position.

By-law Proposals

This is the third and final phase of the By-law Re-write project. The proposal from Council is for the entirety of the by-laws, but includes the by-laws covering Code of Ethics, Complaints and Discipline, and By-law Changes, which were approved by the membership in 2017 and 2018.

The vote will take place through your online profile beginning Wednesday, September 26, 2019, at 12:00 a.m. and ending Thursday, October 10, 2019 at midnight.
