Intern - Professional Development

As of September 2022, all new interns follow the Competency-Based Assessment instead of this previous experience review process. These details are for reference only, until the last applicants get registered or switch to CBA.

You must complete 48 hours of professional development to be eligible for professional registration. You must complete your professional development hours while an Intern with the Association.

The Experience Review Committee will:

  • Assess your report
  • Credit your professional development hours

Criteria

Your professional development must:

  • Be something you attend
  • Relate to your development as an Engineer or Geoscientist - either 'soft' or 'hard' skills
  • Total a minimum of 48 hours (12 hours if you have come from the Assessment Program)

You are encouraged to continue to engage in professional development activities after satisfying the pre-registration requirement, however, reporting these hours is not required.
